Christian Education

Sunday School
Our mission is to teach the Word of God to the all that will hear it. Our goal is that through the teaching of the Sunday School, souls will be saved, lives will be enriched and St. Mark will be that light on a hill that draws others to Jesus our Savior. It is through biblical-based, life-centered teaching at 9:00 each Sunday morning that the plan of salvation is revealed and believers are nurtured.

Children's Church
At St. Mark Baptist Church, we recognize Christ's value on the youngest of all, and strive to care for and love children the way He did. Our Children's Church provides biblical teaching for children ages 6 to 11 years during Sunday morning worship service.

Discipleship Training
Discipleship Training was organized to train Christians for discipleship. It not only addresses the spiritual need of Christians, but the social, economical, physical and emotional need as well. It helps the believer discover his/her worth in Christ, the gift(s) that God has given him, and his place in building up the kingdom of God. It equips Christians to further the ministry of our Lord, not because of what we do, but because of Christ Jesus who lives in us.

Wednesday Night Bible Study
Wednesday Night Bible Study provides an in-depth study of the Word of God. It is through this informal approach to the study of the Word that the body of Christ is encouraged and healthy Christian relationships are formed. Christian education, whether it's Sunday School, Discipleship Training or Bible Study, fullfills the commandment given in Matthew 28:19, 20 .... "Go ye therefore and TEACH all nations TEACHING them to observe all things."

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
VBS is a one week event held in June and is open to children ages 5 to 11. The week is packed with biblical teaching, activities and food.

Child Development Center
The St. Mark Child Development Center provides Christian childcare services for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old. Our purpose is to provide care to children in an atmosphere that ministers to the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual needs of those entrusted in our care. The CDC learning curriculum includes Bible stories, language arts, math, science, social studies, health, physical education, music and drama. Through daily routines and lessons, the children learn academics, obedience, manners, honesty and much more. For more information, please call Yvonne Hill, CDC Director at (256)859-1590.
